If you are unable to add products using the Hippoo app, it is usually due to insufficient permissions.
Possible Cause #
- Your account is not an Administrator or Shop Manager, or does not have write access via WooCommerce REST API.
Solution: Grant Read/Write Permissions #
Follow these steps to ensure your user or API key has the correct permissions:
1. Check User Role #
- Go to WordPress Dashboard → Users → All Users.
- Find your account and make sure your role is Administrator or Shop Manager.
- If not, edit your role to one of these.
2. Generate or Update WooCommerce API Key #
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API.
- Click Add Key (or edit an existing key used for Hippoo).
- Fill in the Description (e.g., Hippoo App Access).
- Select a User with Administrator or Shop Manager role.
- Set Permissions to Read/Write.
- Click Generate API Key.
- Copy the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret.
3. Enter API Key in Hippoo App #
- Open the Hippoo App.
- Go to the Shop Connection section.
- Enter the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret in the fields.
- Tap Connect to verify and complete the connection.
